July 1st in Quebec is Moving Day, the day NHL free agents sign outside Montreal, and Canada Day. It’s up to you to establish your order of priority.

In the NHL, this is the day the 2024-2025 season begins. Several contracts are ending (both among players and managers, as in the case of Ken Holland) and this opens the door to new errors agreements.

At the Canadiens, for example, we notice that Karl Alzner, Joel Edmundson, Chris Wideman, Tanner Pearson, Jesse Ylönen and company are no longer on the payroll of the Canadian. These are all players who affected the payroll last year.

Pages are turning to form new ones. But in the case of the CH, it shouldn’t be anything major. Patrick Kane stayed in Detroit and unless Jonathan Marchessault (who will test the market) has a surprise in store for us…it will be quiet.

We were therefore monitoring Tyler Bertuzzi (four years, $5.5 million per year in Chicago), Sam Reinhart (eight years, approximately $8,625 million in Florida) and Jake Guentzel (seven years, approximately nine million dollars per year in Tampa). Bay), but there, these issues are settled.

So now we’re keeping an eye on Steven Stamkos, who is expected to sign elsewhere in addition to Guentzel’s signing in Tampa Bay.

The name of the Predators continues to circulate widely, but now other teams are in the race. And among these, we note the much loved Golden Knights de Vegas.

We know Vegas is interested in Mitch Marner and the club is always willing to add talent. Would Stamkos be willing to move across the country? We’ll see in the next few hours.

Otherwise, it should be noted that apart from Tampa (which is not going to give up easily), Nashville and Vegas, the Devils, the Red Wings and the Kings are also interested in signing the veteran.

The connection to the Red Wings is pretty clear (Steve Yzerman), but the other destinations are intriguing. Stamkos would help the youth in Newark… and he would be the perfect candidate to replace Pierre-Luc Dubois in California.

Cam Robinson, for his part, talks about the Hurricanes. As for BobFather (Bob McKenzie), he brought up the name of the Ducks. Does that interest the captain (or former captain?) of Tampa?

A lot of

– Jacob Trouba is really lining up to leave.

– Added to New York.

– Will he find a club?

– Interesting.

– In some ways, you have to make room.
