Good news for exporters in the Souss Massa region: a new maritime line linking Agadir to Dakar will soon be put into service, operated by RoRo-Passenger (ROPAX) type vessels. This line, which will be operational in the coming weeks, will directly connect the ports of the capital of Souss Massa and the Senegalese capital. The shipping company Atlas Marine will provide this connection, transporting trucks with drivers between the two countries.

Objective and benefits of the project

This project aims to circumvent several challenges of land transport, such as high costs due to hydrocarbon prices, safety on the roads, wear and tear on trucks and the carbon footprint of exported products. By offering a maritime alternative, this line represents an effective solution to improve the competitiveness of the region’s exports.
