Conor McGregor, the world star of MMA, has just been ordered by an Irish court to pay nearly 250,000 euros in damages to Nikita Hand, a woman who accused him of rape and sexual violence for acts dating back to 2018 .

This decision follows a trial during which the complainant detailed the acts of violence she allegedly suffered in a Dublin hotel room. After the hearings, Nikita Hand, 35, expressed satisfaction with the verdict and encouraged victims to speak out.

A very controversial MMA champion

The court ordered Conor McGregor to pay some 248,603 euros: a sum which notably includes medical costs for the physical and psychological trauma suffered by the victim. The complainant described suffering serious injuries, including bruising to her wrists and neck pain, and said the incident had ruined her professional and personal life.

Conor McGregor, who has not fought in the UFC since 2021 due to injury, continues to be a controversial figure, due to several accusations of sexual assault and violence, particularly in the United States. He continues to deny the charges against him. This verdict comes after a long legal journey for the plaintiff, who also tried to obtain justice for similar accusations against a close friend of Conor McGregor, James Lawrence, without success.
