A delegation of more than 30 Turkish businessmen visited Tunisia on November 18 and 19, within the framework of the B2B Meeting for the Development of Turkiye-Tunisia Business Partnerships, organized under the coordination of the Turkiye Embassy in Tunis and with the support of the Turkish Ministry of Commerce.
At the microphone of Anadolu, the ambassador of Türkiye in Tunisia, Ahmet Misbah Demircan, recalled the importance of these initiatives to realize the vision of the “Century of Türkiye of our President” Recep Tayyip Erdogan. “We are here to build bridges between our two countries, strengthen our historic ties and develop lasting economic partnerships. Our efforts are part of the objectives set by our president, aiming to position Türkiye as a global player in international trade. »

During this visit, the Turkish delegation, mainly composed of experts in engineering, architecture and construction, participated in the International Construction and Materials Exhibition in Tunis. Meetings were also organized with local companies, particularly in the field of infrastructure.
“These forums are essential for identifying mutual opportunities and establishing solid foundations for lasting cooperation. We firmly believe that Tunisia, thanks to its strategic position and its skills, can become a key partner in our expansion towards Africa,” added Ambassador Demircan, highlighting the common ambitions of the two nations.
– Tunisia: a platform of choice
Ibrahim Medini, chief engineer at the Tunisian agency FIPA, stressed that Tunisia represents a platform of choice for foreign investments. “With more than 4,000 foreign companies established here, we are a gateway to Africa and fertile ground for responsible and sustainable investments. We welcome our Turkish partners with open arms,” he said.

Issam Ben Youssef, from the Tunisia-Africa Business Council (TABC), emphasized the importance of tripartite collaborations, involving Tunisian, Turkish and African companies. “Türkiye is very advanced in infrastructure and construction. Together, we can exploit this potential to conquer African markets, with a win-win perspective,” he said.
Fakher Smaoui, representative of UTICA, also welcomed this initiative, while recalling the crucial role that a strategic alliance between the two countries could play. “Tunisian companies benefit from solid credibility in Africa. With the support of Turkish partners, we can realize major projects and strengthen our presence in promising sectors. »
The representative of ABC Bank, Aziz Ben Ghenaya, presented the collaboration opportunities to support companies in their financial initiatives.
– Türkiye-Tunisia: growing cooperation
Trade between Turkey and Tunisia reached $1.6 billion in 2023, reflecting the growing dynamic between the two countries. “These figures show that our partnership has enormous potential,” said Ahmet Misbah Demircan.
According to the ambassador, Turkey is ready to strengthen its cooperation with Tunisia in various areas, ranging from infrastructure to tourism, while exploring opportunities in Africa. “Tunisia and Türkiye are united by deep historical and cultural ties. We must transform this fraternity into concrete actions, for the benefit of our two peoples and the region,” he stressed.
And finally, the Turkish delegation plans to visit Tunisian organizations, in particular the Order of Tunisian Engineers.
