Organizers of the next Sports Investment Summit, pushed back until 2025, plan to announce the exact new date in the coming weeks.
Organizers of the Sports Investment Summit in Africa (SAIS), in collaboration with the National Sports Commission (NSC), on Tuesday announced the postponement of the event scheduled for November 2024 to the first quarter of 2025. The move aims to guarantee optimal organization and strategically align the summit with the renewed vision of sports development in Nigeria and Africa, explains a press release received at APA.
Organizers plan to announce the exact new date in the coming weeks, while pledging to collaborate with stakeholders to refine the agenda and deliver a world-class event, the document said.
The postponement is part of the ongoing integration efforts of the NSC, co-host of the event, following the dissolution of the Ministry of Sports and the organizational transition of the sector. This additional period will ensure strategic mobilization of resources and strengthen the participation of the public and private sectors.
« The National Sports Commission is committed to creating a sustainable and inclusive sports ecosystem in Nigeria said Mallam Shehu Dikko, Director of the NSC, emphasizing that they will use the additional time to strategically mobilize resources, foster collaborations and demonstrate leadership in the field of sports investment.
The objective of SAIS remains to catalyze transformative investments in the African sports sector. The summit will explore opportunities in sports infrastructure development, talent training and sports industrialization. “ SAIS has always aimed to create the most effective platform for discussions and collaborations in the African sports sector », said Nkechi Obi, PDG de Sport Nigeria.
The SAIS, an annual initiative led by Sport Nigeria, aims to position the African sports industry as an engine of sustainable economic growth, also contributing to the African Union Agenda 2063: “The future we want for Africa” .
