“To serve Senegal and contribute to the balance of powers, Ousmane Sonko must occupy the presidency of Parliament”

Pastef and his leader Ousmane Sonko rolled out a steamroller, a wave that left nothing in its wake, no political force, no coalition or intercoalition was able to resist this new political wave. It’s jamano Sonko-Diomaye, as we can talk about jamano Abdoulaye Wade.

To understand this phenomenon, we must first place it banally in the Senegalese political tradition of joxe bopp ak lamiñe, in other words the Senegalese each time they elect a President, they naturally give him the majority in Parliament. But here, the novelty is the dysfunction which meant that the one who embodies the imagination of young people, Ousmane Sonko, was prevented from being President of the Republic. A sort of “revenge” to “restore” the political legitimacy of party leader Pastef Ousmane Sonko.

It is not by chance that Sonko took the risk of rejecting any coalition to impose Pastef alone to compete in the legislative elections, by rejecting any coalition, so that the legitimacy of the party and the leader are recognized incontestably, without no ambiguity.

This is why neither the harshest attacks against Sonko, nor the deviations from the road, nor the errors, nor the blunders of Sonko could have had any effect on the aura and the success of Sonko and of Pastef. In short, the Senegalese, against all odds, decided to give everything to Sonko-Diomaye and Pastef for the success of the project and for the systemic rupture.

Now we must govern, we must agree on the distribution and harmonious exercise of power. Ousmane Sonko has power and he densifies and gives meaning to all the functions he occupies. It can promote Parliamentary power, which is one of the major mechanisms for transforming society.

To serve Senegal and contribute to the balance of powers, he must occupy the presidency of Parliament.

President of parliament, Ousmane Sonko will make it a power that it has never been in political history. Parliament can be densified by strengthening the capacities of parliamentarians through the recruitment of parliamentary assistants who support, advise and guide effectively.

Consult and agree on an effective, competent, experienced and political PM. Political intelligence aware of the political, economic, social, etc. ecological issues of the moment, to act accordingly.

We must reconcile, appease, bring together by recognizing the opposition as an institution, taking its opinion into account. Move towards a democracy with all the vitality, all the energy and all the substance while respecting human rights and human dignity.
The systemic break must be done with all Senegalese people while respecting the values of the republic and respecting equality.

I warmly congratulate Ousmane Sonko and Pastef and wish them every success.

I rejoice in the fair play of the opposition leaders who are of the same generation who recognized the victory of Pastef and Sonko by warmly congratulating them even before the proclamation of the final results.

Democracy and the Senegalese people have emerged strengthened from this ordeal which at times gave us cold sweats. What happened once again demonstrates the resilience of Senegalese democracy. Sonko and Diomaye, govern now by leaving it to each institution to fully play its role for the success of the project and the systemic change that the people are calling for.
