Granting of scholarships to children and orphans of the national security family to reward academic excellence and encourage the pursuit of university studies
This year’s ceremony of excellence was a new opportunity to support social action within the public police service by paying tribute to the children and orphans of the National Security family who have achieved remarkable academic achievements and obtained the best baccalaureate averages for the previous school year. They received scholarships and financial rewards intended to encourage them to pursue higher education.
These include university scholarships of 50,000 DH, spread over five annual installments of 10,000 DH each, covering the five years of higher education. These scholarships constitute financial support provided by the DGSN to encourage the children of its civil servants to pursue their higher academic career.
In total, 12 students from the National Security family benefited from this university scholarship, among those having obtained the best averages and integrated university establishments.
A second component includes exceptional aid in an amount ranging from 4,000 to 5,000 DH, which was given directly to 109 students, children and orphans of civil servants of the national security family who obtained the best grades during the previous school year.
This ceremony of excellence took place in the presence of the parents of the rewarded students in order to encourage them to continue to excel in their academic career and to pursue their higher studies in various specialties and sectors.
The Mohammed VI Foundation for the Social Works of National Security Personnel has adopted a rigorous procedure in the selection of beneficiaries of these scholarships, based mainly on the averages obtained in all fundamental subjects. Thus, four students were selected in each of these three sectors: scientific, technical and literary.
The Foundation also plans to increase the amount and number of beneficiaries of these scholarships and awards for the next school year, in accordance with the directives of the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance.
Signature of partnerships with academic and university institutions to open new perspectives for children and orphans of the National Security family
In addition to the excellence scholarships established since 2021, the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Social Works of National Security Personnel launched this year a new social program, which consists of the conclusion of partnerships and agreements with numerous academic institutions and universities in order to facilitate access for children and orphans of police officers to these establishments.
The Foundation has thus opened up to several higher academic institutions, notably private university institutes, with which partnership agreements have been signed, and which provide, in certain cases, for the granting of full scholarships to orphans of the National Security, or financial incentives in the form of tuition fee reductions of up to 50%.
These educational and incentive initiatives, launched and supervised by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Social Works of National Security Personnel on the instructions of the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, are part of ambitious social programs aimed at diversifying social and educational services provided to active and retired police officers, as well as their families. These programs aim to provide social and educational support to children and orphans from the National Security family who are academically brilliant and enrolled in different cycles of higher education.
The 2024 Excellence Ceremony: a tribute to police officials in the sporting, artistic and cultural fields
This year’s ceremony of excellence was also an opportunity to pay tribute to police officials who won various artistic and sporting competitions, organized by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Social Works of the National Security Personnel during the year, and which are part of the support for social action and the promotion of the culture of creativity among members of the National Security family.
Financial awards were presented to three officials who won the painting competition with the participation of 47 officials, presenting a total of 87 works, which were evaluated by experts and specialists of the Ministry of Culture.
In addition, thirty paintings created by police officers, selected by the competition jury, will be exhibited in galleries open to the public in order to highlight the artistic side of the National Security family.
In the sporting field, the teams having won the first three places in the national futsal championship, organized by the Moroccan Police Sports Union, were also honored. These teams respectively represent the Settat police headquarters (1st place), the Dakhla regional security (2nd place) and the Oujda police headquarters (3rd place). Prizes were also presented to the winners of the top scorer and fair play awards.
Alongside these social initiatives, the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Social Works of National Security Personnel is currently working on the development of a register of the exploits of the National Security family in the artistic, cultural and sporting fields, which will be used to promote the talents of police officers in the context of future sporting, artistic and cultural competitions and events.
