The board of directors of the Zurich-based secure access specialist has appointed Christian Baur responsible for the Key & Wall Solutions & OEM unit as well as group transformation.
A change is brewing in the management of Dormakaba. The board of directors of the Zurich secure access specialist has appointed with effect from 1is next January Christian Baur, as head of the Key & Wall Solutions and OEM unit as well as the group’s transformation. He will succeed Stefano Zocca in his first role, who is leaving the company after thirteen years in order to take on a new challenge.
The newly created function of Chief Transformation Officer should enable the implementation of Dormakaba’s transformation initiatives. Aged 54, Mr. Baur has extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of operational excellence, business development, change management as well as digital and automation solutions.
Since 2023, Mr. Baur has headed the Hörmann Intralogistics and Digital divisions of Hörmann Industries of the German industrial group Hörmann as Chief Technology Officer. Before joining Hörmann, he held various management positions at the German industrial robotics supplier Kuka since 2013.
After the acquisition of the Aargau logistics solutions specialist Swisslog by Kuka in 2015, he became Managing Director (CEO) of Swisslog as well as a member of the Kuka management team. At Swisslog, he successfully implemented a new strategy focused on software and digitalization, improved operational excellence and was able to more than double growth.
