The annual ceremony of excellence of the National Security was held this Monday, November 18, in a friendly and solemn atmosphere. Chaired by Abdellatif Hammouchi, boss of the DGSN-DGST cluster, this evening brought together the various components of this large family to celebrate the academic, sporting and artistic successes of its members.

According to a press release from the DGSN, “this ceremony was marked by the presence of different components of the National Security family, including directors and executives of the central and decentralized services of the General Directorate of National Security and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, civil servants active and retired, as well as children and orphans of police officers and their beneficiaries affiliated to the Mohammed VI Foundation of social works of national security personnel».

Scholarships to support the academic excellence of children of the National Security

This year’s ceremony of excellence once again strengthened social initiatives within National Security. The children and orphans of the police family who obtained exceptional results in the baccalaureate exams were honored. On this occasion, scholarships and financial rewards were awarded to encourage them to continue their university studies.

These incentives included university scholarships totaling 50,000 dirhams, spread over five years with annual payments of 10,000 dirhams. This support, granted by the General Directorate of National Security, aims to support the children of civil servants in pursuing their higher studies, it is reported.

Twelve students from the National Security family, having achieved the best averages, benefited from these scholarships to enter higher education establishments. At the same time, exceptional financial support, ranging between 4,000 and 5,000 dirhams, was given to 109 students who also excelled during the past school year. The winners of these scholarships and financial aid were honored in the presence of their parents, thus strengthening recognition of their academic efforts.

To guarantee a fair selection, the Mohammed VI Foundation for Social Works of National Security Personnel has established a rigorous process, based on academic performance in the main subjects. This system made it possible to distinguish four students per category: scientific, technical and literary sectors.

In response to the success of this initiative, the foundation plans to double the number of beneficiaries while increasing the value of aid from next school year, in accordance with the directives of the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance.

New academic partnerships

Since 2021, the Mohammed VI Foundation for Social Works of National Security Personnel has awarded scholarships for academic excellence. This year, it enriched its social action by launching a new partnership program with several higher academic institutions.

These collaborations include agreements with various institutes, including private establishments. Some partnerships offer full scholarships for National Security orphans, while others provide significant reductions on tuition fees, up to 50% in some institutions.

Celebrate artistic and sporting talents

During this ceremony, tribute was also paid to several police officers who distinguished themselves during various artistic and sporting competitions organized by the foundation this year. These initiatives are part of a dynamic aimed at supporting social work and promoting a culture of creativity within the National Security family, it is specified.

Among the highlights of the ceremony, three police officers, winners of a creativity competition in visual arts, were awarded prizes. This competition, which brought together 47 participants presenting a total of 87 works, saw its final selection ensured by experts from the Ministry of Culture. In addition, thirty works created by police officers were selected by the artistic committee to be exhibited in galleries open to the public.

On the sports side, the teams having won the first three places in the national futsal championship, organized by the Moroccan Police Sports Union, were rewarded. The winning teams respectively represented the Settat police headquarters (1st place), the Dakhla regional security (2nd place) and the Oujda police headquarters (3rd place). Special awards were also given to the winners of the top scorer and fair play titles.

Alongside these initiatives, the foundation is currently working on the creation of a National Security Family Creativity Register. This document, which will identify police officers distinguished in various fields, will serve as a basis for their future participation in sporting, artistic and cultural competitions and events.
