Eliesse Ben Seghir (19 years old) is one of the five finalists for the “young player of the year” prize, awarded by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as part of the CAF Awards 2024, on December 16 in Marrakech.
He is in competition with the Ivorians Karim Konaté and Oumar Diakité, the Gambian Yankuba Minteh and the Senegalese Lamine Camara.
Named first, Bilal El Khannouss (20 years old) was not selected among the finalists chosen by CAF.
Eliesse Ben Seghir, who has become essential in the selection, distinguished himself last summer by winning the bronze medal at the Paris-2024 Olympic Games, a historic first for the U23 national selection.
As a reminder, the CAF Awards 2024 cover the period from January 2024 to October 2024. The winners in each category will be chosen by a vote from a diverse panel, including the CAF Technical Commission, media professionals, as well as coaches and captains of member associations and clubs participating in the group stages of interclub competitions.
