The regional project execution agency for the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region has allocated a budget of one billion centimes for the construction and rehabilitation of two weekly markets in the province of Al Hoceima.

According to available data, the project aims to build a new weekly market in the Timerjit area of ​​the Beni Bouayash community, extending over an area of ​​approximately 6 hectares, in addition to the rehabilitation of the weekly market of the Beni Amart community.

This project is part of a broader program which includes the rehabilitation of four other markets in the communities of Arbaa Taourirt, Katama, Beni Bounsar and Amrabten. The program aims to improve distribution chains and the marketing of local products, as part of the implementation of a partnership agreement worth 1.26 billion dirhams as part of the “Green Generation” strategy. » and the regional development program.

On the other hand, a financial envelope exceeding 207 million dirhams has been allocated to rehabilitate and establish new weekly markets in several local authorities in the region. These markets include 7 markets in Chefchaouen province, 6 each in Al Hoceima and 6 in Larache, two markets in Tétouan and Ouazzane and one market in M’diq-Fnideq.

This project will be financed in partnership between several actors: the Ministry of the Interior (52.8 million dirhams), the Ministry of Agriculture (37.59 million dirhams), the Ministry of Industry and Commerce ( 19 million dirhams), the Ministry of Industry and Commerce Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima Regional Council (88 million dirhams), in addition to a contribution. Local authorities benefiting from 9.5 million dirhams.
