The Ambassador of Palestine to the European Union, Belgium and Luxembourg, Amal Jado, expressed her thanks to the Anadolu Agency which has become the “voice of Gaza”, a Palestinian enclave in the grip of a genocide perpetrated by the Israeli army.

This is what she told Anadolu correspondent in Brussels, on the sidelines of the third exhibition held as part of the tenth edition of the international photojournalism competition “Istanbul Photo Awards” organized by the Anadolu Agency.

”Seeing the photos from the exhibition, I felt a mixture of panic, extreme sadness, anger and disappointment,” said the Palestinian diplomat.

And added: ”I feel powerless in the face of everything that has happened against my people in Gaza and the genocide of which they are victims.”

The ambassador stressed that the images in the exhibition clearly depict war crimes, crimes against humanity, death and destruction in Gaza.

”As you know, the number of deaths is around 44,000. This is the major crime committed by the Israeli occupation force, mainly against the Palestinian people,” observed Amal Jado.

She expressed her gratitude to the Anadolu Agency for organizing the photo exhibition in Brussels, and for carrying the voice of the voiceless [de Gaza].

Anadolu has revealed to the whole world what is happening in Gaza and is working to collectively raise awareness from Brussels, the capital of the European Union, to the tragedy experienced by the Palestinian people, she stressed.

She also highlighted the photo captioned ”a Palestinian woman kissing the body of her niece” by photojournalist Mohammed Salem, which won first prize in the competition.

The exhibition is open to the public from November 4 to 18 at the SR Gallery, located in the Sablon district.

Last April, the jury announced that 32 photojournalists had won awards in 10 categories.

This year, 32,000 photos were in competition as part of this competition.

The event is supported by telephone operator Turkcell, Sony, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and Turkish Airlines (THY).

The winning photos are available on the website “istanbulphotoawards.com”.
