The second edition of Finance Week organized by the EcoMatin newspaper will be held at the Starland Hotel in Yaoundé in the presence of an audience of guests and personalities from the finance sector of the Cemac sub-region including the Minister of Finance of Cameroon Louis Paul Motaze, sponsor of the event.

EcoMatin, a newspaper specializing in the treatment of economic news in the Cemac zone (Cameroon, Gabon, CAR, Congo, Equatorial Guinea and Chad) is organizing this November 27 in Yaoundé, the second edition of Finance Week. After a resounding success at the Tagidor Garden Hotel in Bangou (Western region) in September 2023, the media run by Emile Fidieck is setting up shop this year at the Starland Hotel in Bastos in the political capital of Cameroon. The event is held under the theme: “Domestic capital market: a lever of economic growth for Cemac? “.

Reference platform and meeting place for major players in the economy and finance of the Cemac sub-region, this new issue of Finance Week takes place under the sponsorship of Louis Paul Motaze, Minister of Finance of Cameroon. The latter will deliver an inaugural lesson on “The issues and challenges of mobilizing financial resources in local currency: the case of the Republic of Cameroon”. The government member’s presentation will be followed by the presentation of prizes to the 5 winning banks from the EcoMatin and Family Photo rankings.

*Beac, Cosumaf… expected*

In total, 10 remarkable figures from the banking and finance sector will be invited to two panels to talk to more than 200 expected participants on themes relating to the economy of the sub-region. To do this, in his capacity as Governor of the Bank of Central African States (Beac) Yvon Sana Bangui will speak on the challenges and prospects of the Central Bank’s public securities market while Jacqueline Adiaba Nkembe president of the Commission of Central African Financial Market Surveillance (Cosumaf) is announced to exhibit on savings mobilization products in the Cemac zone.

Willy Delort Heubo (DG of Financia Capital), Samuel Tela (Director of Treasury at the Ministry of Finance of Cameroon, Charles Rollin Ombang Ekath Director General of La Régionale Bank and Sergio Dassarecos, Managing Director of Société Générale Cameroun will shed light on the public on the issues related to the mobilization of financial resources in the Cemac zone.

Panel 2 will focus on savings mobilization products in the Cemac zone. The decryption will be done by Dieudonné Evou Mekou, President of the Development Bank of Central African States (Bdeac); Louis Banga Ntolo, Director General of the Central African Stock Exchange (Bvmac). On the same podium will participate in turn: Alain Noël Olivier Mekulu Mvondo Akame, Director General of the National Social Security Fund (Cnps) of Cameroon, then Hervé Ayissi, Director in charge of Retail Banking within the Cameroonian bank Afriland First Bank.
