The history of this market begins in 2002, recalls There are manywith the launch of the first phase of construction by the urban commune of Nador. The second phase, finalized in 2014, includes 150 stores spread over two levels. Traders and professionals have put their hands in their pockets to finance this ambitious project. But the authorities’ promises remained a dead letter.
The lack of maintenance and security has transformed the market into a den for misfits. At night, the corridors are transformed into open-air toilets, and drug addicts meet there to consume with impunity. Residents complain about noise and odor pollution, and fear for their health.
