A 13-year-old schoolboy arrested for threats of attack on social networks

A 13-year-old schoolboy was arrested this Thursday, November 14 at the César-Franck college in () after posting a message on social media announcing his intention to commit an attack against his school. This student, previously unknown to the police and intelligence services, was placed in police custody, indicated the Amiens public prosecutor's office, confirming information fromEurope 1.

The alert was given by the director of the establishment, informed by a teacher who had read the message broadcast on a class WhatsApp conversation. “He said he was going to commit an attack and blow up the school”specified a police source cited by several media. Immediately informed, the police arrested the teenager in the principal's office.

According to initial information, the schoolboy had just arrived at this establishment after having been excluded from a private college the previous year. The investigation was entrusted to the local judicial police service (SLPJ).

At the same time, the rectorate of the Amiens academy indicated that the student was the subject of a “precautionary measure”
ban on access to his college, pending his appearance before the disciplinary council. A mobile security team from the rectorate was deployed on site to support the educational community.
