Gathered in a general meeting this Thursday, November 14, the members of the Catering Employees Union – CSN, Starbucks Café section, accepted by 66%, by secret ballot, the hypothesis of settlement reached between the parties, and supported by the conciliator in this process.
“Lasting three years, the new employment contract regulates a large number of issues which now standardize employment relations, including the recognition of experience and seniority. Upon signature, there will be salary retroactivity to 1is May 2024, date of entry into force of the new hourly rates increased by approximately 5 to 10% the first year and 2% each subsequent year. In addition to an addition of several social holidays, the collective agreement also provides for a framework on the management of tips, according to a sharing agreement between employees, applicable to absences as well as vacations, in order to maintain salaries during these periods. We share the pride in the work accomplished by the members during these negotiations,” underlines Alexandre Laviolette, president of the Commerce Federation (FC–CSN).
“The members of the union held their ground against an employer who was not easy in the context of this unionization. Obtaining their first employment contract, which contains significant gains in terms of work-study balance as well as health and safety, contributes greatly to cleaning up their work environment,” adds Manon Tremblay, president of the Central Council of Unions. nationals of Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean–CSN.
