A man is trapped in his vehicle ravaged by flames after a collision on Highway 55, in Centre-du-Québec, Friday afternoon.
Around 1:50 p.m., a driver aged in his forties was driving on the A-55 in Saint-Célestin when he collided with a heavy truck.
“During the impact, the car caught fire,” said Éloïse Cossette, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.

The man, whose condition is not known by authorities, was still in the car at 3:10 p.m.
Authorities expected to find a victim inside the vehicle. They haven’t gotten him out of this unfortunate situation yet due to the flames.
According to the SQ’s initial findings, the car was diverted from its lane before ending up in the opposite direction.
The truck driver, a man in his 60s, suffered minor injuries.
Highway 55 is currently closed in both directions. The intervention is still underway with the Fire Department. Urgence Environnement was also notified of the accident due to a diesel spill on the shoulder and the road.
