A 1000th point (already) for Connor McDavid

Yesterday in the NHL there were 10 games.

Obviously, we had to watch if Connor McDavid was going to reach the 1000 point plateau.

Here are the results and highlights:

1. Un 1000e point pour Connor McDavid

While the Oilers hosted the Preds, we had to watch if McDavid would reach the 1000 point plateau.

In the first half, he came very close.

It was only a postponement.

Moments later, he beat Scott Wedgewood.

Papa McDavid was very proud of his son!

The Oilers captain reached this plateau in 659 games and became the fourth player in history to reach this plateau the fastest.

As Frank Seravalli noted, to put things in perspective, he reached 1,000 points in 98 fewer games than Sidney Crosby, 189 fewer games than Evgeni Malkin and 211 fewer games than Alex Ovechkin.

What a player!

This great evening in Alberta ended with a 3-2 score in overtime thanks to Darnell Nurse, who capitalized on a pass from McDavid.

2. A 300th victory for Andrei Vasilevskiy

Besides McDavid, another hockey player could reach a very important plateau yesterday.

Indeed, Andrei Vasilevskiy could reach the plateau of 300 victories in the NHL. And with a victory at the hands of the best team in the NHL, the Jets, the Russian reached this mark and became the goaltender to reach this plateau the fastest in history.

He achieved this feat of arms in only 490 games, while Jacques Plante did it in 521 games.

Anyway!

Sergei Bobrovsky comes in third (541 games), having reached this plateau earlier this season.

As for the match between Tampa Bay and Winnipeg, the Lightning goaltender made 23 saves on 24 shots.

Final score: 4-1.

3. Matvei Michkov performs in Ottawa

Matvei Michkov has clearly learned his lesson.

After being left out for two games, he’s just scoring. Yesterday, in Ottawa, he demonstrated the extent of his talent with a superb goal in overtime.

Quite a heartbreaking defeat for the , who nevertheless led 4-2 in the middle of the third period.

But obviously, the visitors never gave up and scored two goals in quick succession.

In the defeat, Thomas Chabot (two assists), Josh Norris (one goal and one assist) and Ridly Greig (two assists) collected two points for Ottawa.

4. Oskar Back and Jonathan Lekkerimaki score their first NHL goal

While Connor McDavid scored his 1,000th point, two young players scored their first NHL goal.

Indeed, Oskar Back (Stars) and Jonathan Lekkerimaki (Canucks) found the back of the net for the first time in their NHL careers.

First, Back scored quite a goal with one hand.

Victory for the Stars thanks to a touchdown and a one-point conversion against Boston.

Here is Lekkerimaki’s goal:

Vancouver lost by a score of 5-2.

Bo Horvat was back in British Columbia for a second time since his trade. He collected two assists.

5. Sam Reinhart passes Cole Caufield

The NHL’s top scorer is no longer Cole Caufield.

This title now goes to Sam Reinhart, who yesterday scored his 13th goal of the season.

The Panthers’ other goal was scored by Jesper Boqvist.

It was quite one!

But in a 6-2 Devils victory, the real hero was Jesper Bratt.

He scored a hat trick.

Jack Hughes also had a good game (three points).

He also contributed with his robust play.
