Almost all public service unions are calling for a strike on December 5, franceinfo learned Thursday, November 14 from several unions. This date was confirmed Thursday afternoon.
The unions are demanding more human and budgetary resources and denouncing the increase from one to three days of waiting time in the event of sick leave. Actions will take place throughout France. Each sector will decide what to do. The CFDT, for example, predicts a well-attended strike in National Education.
Seven out of eight organizations agreed. Only Force Ouvrière does not follow the movement, the union preferring a longer mobilization. The union believes that a single day of mobilization is not enough. FO therefore plans “three days of strike for three days of waiting”. It will be December 11, 12 and 13, at the same time as the renewable strike at the SNCF.
This call for a strike comes as the budget presentation to Parliament provides for more than a billion euros in savings in 2025.
