HIBAPRESS – Mohamed Zaryouh
In an unfortunate incident in the town of Zayo, a 42-year-old woman was returning home after the end of her day and she did not expect that her path would be fraught with real danger as she was violently attacked by a stray dog while crossing one of the main streets of the city, more precisely in front of the headquarters of the Zayo prefecture, the dog suddenly attacked her, seriously injuring her. She was immediately transferred to Zayo hospital by an ambulance from the Civil Protection Center, to receive the necessary care,
The incident occurred in an area where there are many educational establishments, including a primary school, which increases the seriousness of the situation. The dog violently attacked the woman, causing serious injuries to her leg and hand. The injuries were so serious that they required urgent medical intervention. This type of incident is a major concern, especially with the increasing number of stray dogs roaming freely in city neighborhoods and in front of schools, posing a threat to public safety.
It is planned that the infected woman will be transferred to the Zayo municipal headquarters to receive the doses of vaccine necessary to protect against possible illnesses, under the supervision of the local health center. This preventive measure is part of the health protocols in force in the event of bites of people by stray animals, these measures aiming to prevent any infectious disease that can be transmitted by bite, including rabies.
At the same time, stray dogs in the area should be monitored and tested to determine whether they are infected with rabies or other diseases that could pose a threat to the population. This measure is part of efforts to reduce the health risks that may result from stray animals, particularly in light of the recurrence of such incidents in several Moroccan cities.
This incident highlights the demands of Zayo residents for local authorities to take effective measures to limit the spread of stray dogs. Residents view the presence of stray dogs in residential areas and around educational institutions as a major threat and stress the need to relocate these animals to designated and safe places away from neighborhoods. Some residents also highlight the importance of adopting urban policies aimed at dealing more effectively with this phenomenon, such as the creation of special centers to take care of stray dogs and provide them with the necessary health care, in addition to strengthening campaigns awareness campaign targeting the community to deal with this phenomenon in a civilized and humane manner.
This incident reflects the reality experienced by many Moroccan cities, where stray dogs are a constant source of anxiety and danger, particularly for children and the elderly, who may struggle to defend themselves if attacked.
Residents of Zayo hope that this incident will prompt local authorities to take decisive and rapid action to ensure the safety of the municipality and protect individuals from the dangers of stray dogs, while awaiting concrete measures that will help strengthen security in their city.
