The Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) arrested four people in drug trafficking charges on Wednesday morning. The suspects are all believed to be linked to organized crime.

Following these arrests, the SPVQ’s MALSAIN project conducted major searches in two residences in Beauport and Saint-Émile.

On site, the police got their hands on 15 g of cocaine, 1000 methamphetamine tablets, more than 100 g of magic mushrooms, 170 g of hashish, 20 wax pen type electronic cigarettes as well as around 300 hydromorphone contin tablets. (Dilaudid),

They also confiscated $25,000 in Canadian money, resale equipment and six cell phones.

Fire arms

At one of the two addresses, the tactical intervention group also found a 9 mm pistol and its ammunition, as well as .38 caliber bullets and a ballistic vest.

The 54-year-old suspect therefore saw charges related to firearms possession added to his file. He should appear at the Quebec courthouse during the afternoon, Wednesday.

Like the first, two other individuals face one count of possession of narcotics with the aim of trafficking. The other two fifty-year-olds were released by summons. The young woman aged 32 was released without any charges, “for lack of evidence”, explains the spokesperson for the SPVQ, Pierre-Olivier Lévesque.

Other possible arrests

He affirms that “the investigation continues and that new arrests could take place” in connection with this case.

The municipal police force is not able to confirm whether this search is linked to those which were carried out in Sept-Îles and Saguenay on Tuesday.

The Sûreté du Québec, among other things, seized two kilos of cocaine and $300,000 in addition to arresting four individuals believed to work for All Boivin, a fugitive trafficker who is one of the most wanted people in Canada.
