The mother of the premature newborn was handed over to French authorities this Thursday. Until now, she was in the Netherlands, where she was arrested by the police after being found in a hotel with her partner and her son. Presented to a liberty and detention judge later in the evening, she was placed under judicial supervision with an obligation to receive treatment and hospitalization.

The 25-year-old young mother is required to clock in every week and is prohibited from leaving her home outside of work. She is also subject to a ban on leaving French territory. She handed over her passport and identity card to the court.

Born two months premature, Santiago was 17 days old when he was kidnapped by his parents and needed “constant medical care.” An abduction alert was immediately launched, due to the danger the baby would face for his life.

The baby was found alive and in good health on October 25. Hospitalized in Amsterdam, he is in good health according to the latest news.
