Donald Trump, elected 47th President of the United States, was “far” from being Charles St-Maurice’s ideal choice.

In interview at Quebec Morning, the Quebecer describes this result as “catastrophic”. “What I see as a result this morning is totally catastrophic, it’s aberrant,” he comments.

For Mr. St-Maurice, this decision “denotes the lack of judgment of half of the American population” and the “capacity to analyze and understand the issues.”

The one who lives in Florida says he is surprised by the election of Donald Trump, even though “it is completely the opposite” of the results he expected.

“My Democratic friends and I were all very confident in the results that the issues would provide,” he said. It’s completely the opposite of what we expected.”

He also reiterates that it is a “catastrophe” and that he could possibly consider a return to Quebec, depending on what happens next.

“This morning is a disaster. We will all look at each other and say: “What are we doing?”, he asks himself. Many of them do not have the option of leaving or returning to Canada […] We have it.”
