Xbox players will be able to ask questions to an AI chatbot. Microsoft has launched the test of a virtual support agent, which for the moment only speaks in English, but which goes out of its way to resolve problems.
The players Xbox Members of the Xbox Insiders program can now test a new bot whose mission is to respond to support requests. Not when you’re stuck in a game (maybe that will happen one day), but for everything related to the console, your account, billing, etc.
A bot that has the answer to almost everything
The assistant actually ingested the Xbox support site database. This is another way to obtain support, rather than having to dig around or use a search engine which is not necessarily always relevant. As with ChatGPT and other bots, Xbox Virtual Agent users can report the quality of responses to Microsoft by using the “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” buttons on each response, or by clicking the “Give a review” button at the bottom of the page.
The bot, whose appearance can be chosen (two models are offered), displays a discussion space; You can also ask questions orally. It’s available on the Xbox Support site home page, but currently only in the United States for English-speaking Xbox Insiders users. There is no doubt that it will extend to other countries and languages if it is satisfactory.
Microsoft is obviously very involved in generative AI. The company is OpenAI’s first partner, it is pushing very hard for the adoption of this technology, whether among the general public or businesses. On the video game side, Microsoft is working on creation tools for developers.
