UNITED STATES – Knock, knock, knock, who’s there? Two American families from Pennsylvania were surprised to see Democratic candidate Kamala Harris on their doorstep this Monday, November 4, on the eve of the American presidential election.

In the home stretch before the election in which she faces Donald Trump, the vice-president visited Pennsylvania, a key state that could swing the election. Between meetings with residents and her multiple meetings, she joined a team of Democrats going door to door.

The New York Times who witnessed this communication operation specified that the Democrat had knocked on two doors in a “quiet neighborhood” from Reading, about 100 miles from Philadelphia, and spoke to five people. Donald Trump had held a meeting in this city earlier in the day.

“You already have my vote!” »

Images from CNN and a Bloomberg journalist show Kamala Harris ringing a woman's doorbell who takes a few seconds to open. The cameras, although located a few meters away, manage to capture the cry of surprise of this American woman who rushes to take Kamala Harris in her arms.

This lady's husband then arrives at the door, then the still shocked woman asks the Democrat how she is on the eve of the election. The answer is difficult to hear due to the distance and a barking dog, but Kamala Harris urges them to go vote. “You already have my vote!” “, the voter assures him.

A second extract broadcast by C-Span shows the arrival of the vice-president to another family waiting for her on the steps. Once again, the three people let out a cry of surprise. ” Oh my God ! We really didn't expect that. We thought it was (Josh) Shapiro [gouverneur de Pennsylvanie, ndlr] », said the father.
