The Palais de Rumine in Lausanne is hosting a mock trial on agriculture in crisis on Saturday. This philosophical trial, organized by the Disputons-nous association, aims to transform disputes into constructive debates.
The fictitious agricultural trial features real lawyers and a farmer, in an atmosphere that is both “serious and joyful”, explains Charles Kleiber, founder of the Association, in the 12:30 p.m. Let’s argue.
“It’s better to debate rather than fight. Use words, sublimate violence and listen to others. Basically, what we want to do is a space for deliberation in the heart of the city”, notes he again.
The themes covered are serious, touching on fundamental questions of our civilization, such as growth and the use of the car. Lawyers and farmers participate voluntarily, says Charles Kleiber.
