The death toll from an Israeli airstrike on a UN-run school in Gaza has risen to 11, a medical source said. This school, housing displaced civilians, is located west of Gaza City.

The attack also injured twenty other people. The Asma School, run by the United Nations Palestinian Refugee Agency (UNRWA), is located in the Al-Shati refugee camp. This is the second time this school has been targeted in a few days.

A previous strike, which occurred on October 19, had already caused at least 10 deaths and injured several civilians. These repeated attacks on civilian installations raise concerns about possible violations of the laws of war.

Since the start of the Israeli offensive on Gaza on October 7, Israel has systematically targeted civilian infrastructure, such as hospitals and places of worship. These acts are being prosecuted before the International Court of Justice for genocide.

Despite UN Security Council resolutions demanding a ceasefire, nearly 43,000 civilians, mainly women and children, have already lost their lives, and another 100,000 have been injured. The Gazan population faces serious shortages of food, drinking water and medicine.
