Louga, May 21 (APS) – The “Askanou Kébé” association is committed to contributing to the development of the Kébémer department by working in collaboration with local authorities and advocating for investments in infrastructure, youth employment and public health, declared Moussa Kémal Kébé, one of its members.

“This day is an opportunity for members of the Kébé-Kébé family, whose ancestors founded Kébémer, to come together, exchange and share synergies,” said the first vice-president of the association “Askanou Kébé”, Moustapha Kébé.

Speaking on Monday during the celebration of the annual “Askanou Kébé” day, Moussa Kébé indicated that his association aims, in the medium and long term, to build “Maison Askanou Kébé”, emphasizing the “importance” of it for “the consolidation of the association’s activities and community development”.

He welcomed “the involvement of members of the diaspora and the Askanou Kébé association in raising funds and materials to support the local health system”.

“Our association organizes several actions such as blood donations, in collaboration with the Louga regional hospital to help compensate for the blood deficit in the region, by raising awareness among the population of the importance of donating blood,” a- he points out.

In this regard, he called on “the authorities to strengthen health infrastructure in the department to better meet the needs of the population”.

Furthermore, he noted “the initiatives of the Askanou Kébé association to raise funds with a view to building a community house which will serve as a center of social, educational and socio-economic activities for the community”.

He underlined “the role of this house in strengthening the solidarity and development of the Kébémer community”.

Regarding the political role of the association, Moustapha Kémal Kébé specified that “although the association is apolitical, its members are encouraged to get involved in political and socio-economic initiatives aimed at the development of the city”.
