Slight improvement in the filling rate of dams after the latest rains

In its bulletin on the daily situation of dams of Moroccothe Ministry of Equipment and Water specified that the filling level, Tuesday October 15, 2024, amounts to 29%, i.e. a reserve volume of more than 4,858 million m3. This rate thus marks an increase of almost 4 points compared to the same period last year (25.1%).

Morocco's weapons to ensure its water supply

Concerning the filling rates by basin, the latest precipitation benefited the different regions of Morocco. A notable improvement is recorded in Guir-Ziz-Rheris (+7%), et Draa-oued Noun (+1%). Furthermore, theGuir-Ziz-Rheris hydraulic basin agency revealed that the barrage Hassan Eddakhil recorded water inflows of 22.66 million m3 thanks to recent rains, bringing the volume of water stored to approximately 178.3 million m3, or 57% of its total capacity.

Furthermore, the volume of water in the Kaddoussa dam increased by 6.64 million m3 to reach a reserve level of more than 70 million m3, or 31.34% of its total storage capacity. These figures demonstrate a clear improvement in the situation of dams of the Guir-Ziz-Rheris basin following the recent rains, thus strengthening the capacity to respond to the water demand in the region.
