In April, the main price increases concerned natural gas, tobacco, heating oil and vehicle repairs and maintenance. Conversely, dairy products, bread and cereals, vehicle purchases, electricity, furniture, fuel, clothing and household appliances had the most significant negative impact on inflation.

The European statistical office Eurostat will publish on Friday the HICP for the countries of the European Union for the month of April.
