On Wednesday shortly after midnight, the local Arlon police intervened in a home in the city center for a couple’s argument over alcohol and drugs. Despite the rapid intervention of emergency services who tried to revive her, a woman aged around 38 died on the spot. The first elements of the investigation, including the autopsy carried out on Wednesday afternoon, indicate that the death was the result of a single blow to the heart, reports the prosecution, specifying that the weapon used could not have been formally identified.
This morning, however, the suspect’s father confirmed to us that a ballpoint pen was indeed the weapon used. Claudio, the victim’s companion, born in 1985, was deprived of his liberty and charged with homicide, continues the Luxembourg public prosecutor’s office. A raid took place in the presence of investigators, the technical and scientific police laboratory, a forensic doctor, the public prosecutor’s office and the investigating judge.
This attack shakes the couple’s neighbors, who did not hide their emotion when we questioned them. “It’s a peaceful neighborhood where not much happens”says a local resident. “They were friendly, we said hello to each other”tells us another resident, who saw the couple in the neighborhood.
Placed in preventive detention, the suspect is known to the judicial and police authorities, but has no specific history of violence. The case was put under investigation. The investigation continues, concludes the Luxembourg public prosecutor’s office. This is the 6th femicide in our country since the start of the year.
