According to the Authority, this cancellation will help encourage exporters and ease their financial burdens, particularly for small and medium-sized businesses, while improving the competitiveness of Saudi exports.

By adopting this new approach, Saudi Arabia also aims to reduce import costs, optimize the ability of importers to calculate in advance the cost of customs duties for imports, set a cap on these duties and to unify the calculation mechanism between the different land, sea and air ports.
