The head of government, Aziz Akhannouch represents King Mohammed VI at the 19th Francophonie Summit, held Friday at the Cité internationale de la langue française at the Château de Villers-Cotterêts, north of the capital and which will continue on Saturday at the Grand Palais in .

On his arrival at the Château de Villers-Cotterêts, Akhannouch was welcomed by French President Emmanuel Macron and Mrs. Brigitte Macron, as well as the Secretary General of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), Louise Mushikiwabo.

In addition to the ministerial segment and that of Heads of State and Government, the Francophonie summit which is being held under the theme “Create, innovate and undertake in French”, is intended to be a moment of exchange with young creators and entrepreneurs through several events, notably the Franco Tech technology fair and the Francophonie Village which hosts national pavilions, including that of Morocco, as well as a festival which celebrates the French language.

Since joining the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) in 1981, Morocco has positioned itself as a key player through its active participation in the work of the various bodies of the Organization. This dynamism testifies to the Kingdom’s desire to contribute to the promotion of the founding values ​​of the OIF, such as cultural diversity, multilingualism and international cooperation.
