Horizon Photo Club: an evening to support the Cégep

On May 22, from 6 p.m., the Victoriaville Horizon Photo Club is organizing a fundraising activity whose profits will go to the Fondation du Cégep de Victoriaville to carry out major work on the physical activities pavilion.

The evening will be presented in three parts. To begin with, there will be a photo exhibition, where we will be able to appreciate works by club members and some of which, winners of a competition under the theme “Living in the movement”, will be put up for auction. This, with several different prizes offered by sponsors, will follow the conference given by the well-known Pierre Lavoie. Between all of this, a dinner will be offered to the guests.

The president of the club, Brigitte Gagnon, explained in a telephone interview that this was the second year that the organization, currently made up of around 70 members, had held such an activity. “We are holding this evening in particular to thank the participation of members throughout the year,” she indicated. But that does not prevent the entire population from participating and, in addition to spending a pleasant evening at the Victoriaville Golf Club, contributing to a good cause.

“Last year, for the club’s 10th anniversary, we welcomed Sophie Thibault and this time it’s Pierre Lavoie’s turn,” she says, adding that the club also wanted to help in its own way. with this evening, hence the contribution to the Cégep de Victoriaville Foundation. Moreover, the objective would be to donate an amount of at least $1000, which will be raised largely through the auction.

For members, this is a great opportunity to show their talent, they who no longer have access to the FPPQ competition.

So don’t hesitate to buy your ticket, at a cost of $75, for this evening of May 22. They are available at https://www.zeffy.com/fr-CA/ticketing/a4f917fc-eaff-40eb-a35b-906e3981bc82.

A proud president

Brigitte Gagnon is very proud of the photo club that she chairs for a third term. She has been involved there for a dozen years and explains that she has learned a lot. Although she has been taking photography since she was a teenager, she has returned to it more seriously over the past fifteen years. “The club helped me a lot to improve,” she appreciates.

We will also be able to see her work along the Beaudet reservoir in Victoriaville while she will present, in a few days, eight photographs where we will be able to discover her passion for trees and everything that surrounds them. She even added an explanatory soundtrack, which can be heard by scanning a QR code, to add a little something to her exhibition.
