Pagers trapped in Lebanon: why now?

Has the generalized war in the Middle East finally begun this Tuesday? The simultaneous explosion of thousands of Hezbollah pagers, in all four corners of Lebanon, as well as in Syria it seems, cannot stop there. No turning back will probably be possible in the regional escalation after this unprecedented, almost surreal episode, led by the Israeli secret services.

In addition to the technical questions related to this incredible large-scale sabotage, there is a pressing one: why now? According to unconfirmed information, published by the specialist site for the region Al-Monitor, the Israelis were taken by surprise: their spectacular hacking of the pagers recently acquired by Hezbollah, in which a few grams of explosive substance were allegedly introduced, had raised suspicions among a certain number of leaders of the Islamist movement, the media believes. In the meantime, these leaders have been assassinated. But the risk that the whole affair would thus be uncovered would have led Israel to rush its implementation, at the risk otherwise of seeing it fail.
