Sixth suspect arrested in Paris region

The individual, already convicted of drug trafficking, could be the shooter. He was placed in pre-trial detention while the victim is still between life and death.

The Figaro Nice

A few days after an individual was riddled with bullets in an apartment in the eastern districts of Nice (Alpes-Maritimes), a sixth suspect was arrested on September 4, the public prosecutor announced in a press release. The 30-year-old man, “likely to be directly involved in the attempted homicide”was arrested in Val d’Oise, where he usually resides, the prosecution said.

This individual is well known to the police and justice services since he has already been convicted several times for drug trafficking. In this case, he could well be the shooter and was indicted and imprisoned. After these shots that occurred on the night of August 30, five other people were arrested and are also being prosecuted by the courts.

Dozens of detonations

The victim was found seriously injured, lying on a sofa in an apartment on the fourth floor of a residence on Via Fenoglio in Briga. About ten shots and screams were heard and the man was hit in the legs, stomach, arms and mouth. “The victim is still in a coma with a life-threatening prognosis”said the Nice prosecutor, ten days after the shooting in which 7.62 ammunition was found by investigators.

This 25-year-old individual between life and death also comes from the Paris region, “very well known” services and has been convicted several times in drug cases. There is little doubt that what happened that night was a violent settling of scores between rival gangs.
