Cycling: Jérôme Vacher 51st at the French FSGT cyclo-cross championships

In an atmosphere on the banks of the refrigerated Rhône, thirty-seven U15s (minimals) set off this Saturday morning for twenty minutes of racing on a demanding circuit combining power and technique. Elio Arnaud, the only youngster from the club to have made the trip, will be between twenty and thirtieth places throughout the competition. Faced with tough competition, he performed well overall without ever, it seems, succeeding in transcending himself as he often achieves, no doubt the cold. He crossed the finish line in 25th position.

In the afternoon his dad Cyril confirmed his current good condition by making a good start which placed him in the top 15 at the heart of a peloton of around forty units. Adopting a regular pace, he managed to maintain his position and completed the forty minutes of effort in fifteenth position and fourth veteran.
