Scour's new single, Blades, unleashes hell before Gold

Scour, Phil Anselmo's extreme metal project, has released Bladesthe last extract from his next album Golddue out February 21, 2025 via Housecore Records in North America and Nuclear Blast in Europe. The track is accompanied by an immersive video, reinforcing the brutal intensity of their music.

A bold mix of extreme styles

Gold marks an important step for Scour, who made himself known with a trilogy of EPs (The Grey, The Red et The Black). This first full-length album mixes Black Metal, grindcore, punk and thrash, offering a visceral and raging sonic experience. The band, made up of extreme metal veterans, aims to push the boundaries of the genre while serving as an outlet for its members.

The piece Blades perfectly illustrates this spirit. Scour member Derek Engemann says: “Blades stood out from the first writing sessions with its relentless riffs and devastating energy. The clip amplifies this intensity, shot in the gothic and grotesque atmosphere of Philip Anselmo's haunted house during Halloween.

The music video, directed by Malcolm Pugh, combines footage from the band's live performance at Southport Hall in New with footage shot in the macabre world of Anselmo's haunted house.
