“Paul is getting ready to do the next Beatles movie, so I may have to do without him for my next movie,” he said.
Although for the moment, the casting of this biopic has not yet been confirmed by Sam Mendes, Paul Mescal was, according to the American media The Hollywood Reporter, expected to play Paul McCartney on screen.

In February 2024, Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Skyfall, 1917) had confided that he was going to make four separate films on each member of the Beatles: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
Besides Paul Mescal, other names have also been mentioned to play the other members of the group like Harris Dickinson for John Lennon, Joseph Quinn for George Harrison and Barry Keoghan for Ringo Starr.
According to Sam Mendes, these four biopics will offer the point of view of each member of the legendary British rock group and will be interconnected. This ambitious project, carried out with the agreement of the Beatles family and Apple Corps, could be released by 2027 according to Deadline.
