In an interview given to the site Duty on August 1, 2016, the international star spoke of the death of his soul mate. “I have to stay strong for my children, now and for later. René gave me everything, magnificent children, above all,” she confided. Of her husband, the star remembers their many years of life together, filled with love.
The latter is still present at his side despite his departure. “I see it in the eyes of my children, every day. We have our rituals. In the evening, we say good night to René, in front of a photo,” she explained and continued: “He accompanies me. His departure went well. Not in front of the children. And I’m proud of myself for being able to talk to them, so they wouldn’t be afraid.”
A tender message to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary
Missing for eight years, René Angélil will never cease to be in the heart of Céline Dion. As proof, the interpreter of My Heart Will Go On celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in a post shared on his Instagram account. “You always fill our hearts, every day. You are everything to us. We miss you so much. Happy 30th anniversary, my love!”, she wrote in the caption of a photo taken during their union, on the 17th. December 1994.
