Bring Me The Horizon considers short creative break

After a year marked by the release of the album Post Human: NeX GEn and a busy schedule, Bring Me The Horizon could use a well-deserved break. This is what Oli Sykes suggested in a recent interview with NMEexplaining that a moment of perspective was necessary to preserve their creativity and prepare for the next chapter in their album series.

A need for perspective to preserve creativity

Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes has spoken about the exhaustion he felt after working on NeX GEn. “We need time to recharge our batteries and calm down a bit, because we never have,” he said, specifying that the group had not taken a significant break in years, apart from during confinement.

“I'm just so exhausted from NeX GEn and this universe that I need a real break to let things settle down a bit,” he added, emphasizing the importance of clearly differentiating each musical chapter of the series Post Human.

Sykes also expressed his desire for the next album to mark an aesthetic and sonic break: “NeX GEn has a very different sound from Survival Horror. I want the next one to be a complete new era, on every level.”

Projects on hold, but an active future

Although the next chapter of Post Human doesn't have any finalized songs yet, Sykes mentioned the existence of undeveloped ideas that could see the light of day as extended versions or standalone tracks: “We have a lot of ideas and elements to develop, but I don't want to promise anything.”

Despite this possible break, Bring Me The Horizon will be present in 2025 with performances scheduled at several major festivals such as Rock Am Ring, Rock Im Park, Reading et Leeds.
