Selena Gomez is increasingly distancing herself from her musical career. In an interview with Vanity Fairthe 32-year-old star revealed that music is not her priority at the moment, and never has been.
In any case, for the moment, she does not feel like returning to the recording studio.
“I don’t know if I’m ready, you know? It’s a complicated subject,” confided the pop star whose latest single, Love Onwas released last February.
By her own admission, the singer, whose last album, Rare, dates back to 2020, clearly considers that music is “a hobby that has taken on disproportionate proportions”.
A passion that has become uncontrollable
“Acting has always been my first love,” the artist explained. “Music is just a hobby that got out of control.” However, and this will reassure more than one, Selena Gomez does not plan to stop singing completely.
“Now it’s a part of who I am and I don’t think I’m going to let it go away,” she added. “But I’m just not ready (to make music again) right now.”
Fans can still hear Selena Gomez singing in Spanish in Emilia Perezthe new film by Jacques Audiard which remains in theaters and will arrive on Netflix on November 13.
