Nostalgia is working at full speed for Jenifer. This Friday, the singer finally released “Jukebox”, an album on which she dusts off the hits from the start of her career (“Au soleil”, “J'attends l'amour”, “Tourner ma page”…) and the revisited in new versions. “ I wasn't a fan of the idea of the best of, because I always like to move forward, it's my character. But I always think about the stage before making a record. So I recorded more acoustic covers. (…) with a view to an intimate tour which begins in January. I love the proximity in shows and these new versions lend themselves to that. It's an album of memories, a postcard for my audience who have followed me for 20 years. It's not nothing! » smiles the singer in the pages of Parisian. At the same time, the 42-year-old artist made his comeback to the “Star Academy” castle for the special alumni week. “I was stalked by the paparazzi”
This return to the show that revealed her 23 years ago, Jenifer experienced it with “ incredible stage fright and a very strange mix of emotions, including a bit of nostalgia ». « I remembered my friends, 16 of us returned to this castle. Maybe deep down, I would have liked to relive the thing with everyone from back then. I thought about Olivia (Ruiz), the great moments of emotion, the many laughs, but also the little tears » she remembers with a touch of nostalgia. It must be said that at the time, in the wake of “Loft Story”, the first season of “Star Academy” gave rise to a real phenomenon for which none of the students were really prepared: “ We didn't calculate anything, we were crazy carefree. (…) Each of our outings created hysteria. I was fond of cutting myself off from the world I was in too. I was a slightly complex teenager and this got me out of something a bit dark ».
However, Jenifer said he felt “ a feeling of guilt » after his victory in front of 11.8 million viewers: “ I loved my friends so much that I said to myself: “Why me and not them too?” “. And the immense success she experienced from her first album, which sold a million copies, made her dizzy. “ I didn't know that success could be so isolating. I, who am very sociable, have experienced a lot of confinement. I was scared. I was really stalked by paparazzi for a long time » she reveals, comparing said photographers to “ rats » : « It was harassment. I was dreading going to the park with my son. I banned myself from too many things. It was extremely violent. (…) I wanted to be discreet, to protect mine. Maxim (Nucci) and my son didn't ask for anything at the time. I felt harmful to them “. Despite everything, Jenifer was able to focus on Music, her role as a mother and the love her audience has had for over 20 years: “ [Ça] brought me back to basics “. And today it is a Jenifer « maman [et] singer » which ensures feeling more « libre » than ever!
