???? Master South Art
This Sunday, November 17 at 6:40 p.m. on Arte, in partnership with France Musique, find pianist Lang Lang at Carnegie Hall!
“Tomorrow I'm giving my first concert at Carnegie Hall and I'm so excited,” says a baby-faced, starry-eyed 21-year-old Lang Lang on the eve of the big day. Before conquering the world, the future piano superstar also took her first steps on the international scene. This founding shift occurred on November 7, 2003 at Carnegie Hall in New York, when the Chinese prodigy, born in Shenyang, confidently, and as if inhabited, deployed his virtuoso touch. During this legendary concert, Lang Lang, in a traditional red Chinese suit and jacket, performed pieces by Chopin, Haydn, Liszt, Schubert and Schumann with astonishing ease, and dazzled… He even briefly invited his musician father to accompany him on the erhu, a Chinese violin. Revealed to the public, his flamboyant style and incomparable technique then elevated him to the big leagues.
