The rap collective La Fusion launches a call for support for the creation of a studio in

The rap collective La Fusion is calling for support for its creative studio project. In the running for funding from the Tarnais Participatory Budget, the collective aims to build “Studio LF”, a space dedicated to hip-hop creation and the talents of tomorrow.

La Fusion, a dynamic rap collective from Castres, formed an association in 2021 to bring to life an ambitious vision: develop Hip-Hop culture in their region, support artistic projects inspired by this movement and position themselves as a resource structure for local artists and technicians. Today, La Fusion brings together 13 members with varied skills, ranging from artists to experienced technicians, united around a structuring project for the region.

“Any help is welcome”

In 2024, the collective launched a major project: the construction of its own creative space, a studio called “Studio LF”, designed to become an emblematic place for hip-hop culture in the Castres region. This 50 m² venue, developed in partnership with La Table des Ateliers, the city's committed recycler, will include a recording studio with a booth, as well as a work and meeting room fully equipped with professional equipment.

In order to make this project a reality, La Fusion submitted a funding request to the Tarnais Participatory Budget, a departmental system supporting residents' initiatives. Their application having been validated, it now depends on the vote of citizens to obtain the necessary funding. Votes, open since October 14, will close this Sunday, November 17. “We are determined to support artistic creation inspired by hip-hop culture in our territory, and we are counting on as many people as possible to enable us to act! I know there are only 3 days left, but any help is welcome,” declared Alexandre, member and coordinator of the collective.

Beyond the creation of an artistic production space, the collective's long-term objective is to employ the sound engineers who will run the life of this studio, thus contributing to the professionalization and dynamism of the local scene. Supporting the “Studio LF” project means offering tomorrow’s young talents a space dedicated to experimentation and creation while allowing the organization of discovery workshops and sharing of artistic practices.

But for Alexandre and the other members of La Fusion, this studio is just the beginning. Their ambition is part of a broader horizon: to make Castres a recognized player in the hip-hop scene in Occitania in the years to come. A project which, they hope, will contribute to the development of hip-hop culture and its actors in the region.
