The double of Pierre Garnier, the child of La Manche

Friday evening, the native of Villedieu-les-Poêles won two trophies during the 26th edition of the NRJ Awards, thanks to his single “Ceux qu’on été”. It was crowned “French-speaking revelation” and “French-speaking song”.

In just one year, Pierre Garnier's career exploded. Friday November 1, TF1 broadcast the 26th NRJ Music Awards ceremony, presented by Nikos Aliagas at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in (Alpes-Maritimes).

The 22-year-old Manchois emerged as a double winner, with the prize for “French-speaking revelation” and that for “French-speaking song”, thanks to his hit The ones we were.

Winner of the Star Academy on February 3, the young man who grew up in Villedieu-les-Poêles (Manche), won a check for 100,000 euros and a contract with the record company Sony Music France. This collaboration allowed him to release, in February 2024, his new single Those we were. A success.

In 24 hours, it was a real hit, with 2 million cumulative streaming streams. On March 24, it became a platinum single, then a diamond single on May 13. A few weeks later, Pierre Garnier released his second single We knowtaken from his first album Every secondreleased June 7.

The Normand has a series of collaborations, notably with Matt Pokora, Dadju, Joseph Kamel, Sofiane Pamart. But it's his song Those we were which was rewarded last night.

With this new victory, the one who has more than a million subscribers on Instagram has a bright future ahead of him. Enough to make the approximately 3,800 inhabitants of Villedieu-les-Poêles proud.
