Seunghan is back in RIIZE!
In November 2023, SM Entertainment announced the RIIZE member’s hiatus, following controversy related to his private life.
Seunghan (RIIZE) suspends his career indefinitely following controversies
This October 11, 2024, the agency then announced via a long press release that Seunghan was making his return to RIIZE and that he would resume his activities with the group.
SM Entertainment said:
“To the BRIIZE, who love RIIZE,
Hello, this is Wizard Production, in charge of the production of RIIZE.
We would like to cautiously inform you about Seunghan’s return to activities as well as the future direction of RIIZE.As many of you know, it’s been about 10 months since Seunghan stopped his activities after being involved in controversy over his private actions during the period before his debut.
Seunghan admitted his past mistakes and has been reflecting on his actions for almost a year now, feeling sorry for his members and fans. Because we also recognized that Seunghan’s past actions were not appropriate for a public figure, it took some time to consider the right time for his return.
While we sympathized with those whose curiosity regarding Seunghan’s future plans quickly turned to worry and concern over time, it was inevitable that we would consider this issue from different sides. Therefore, we would like to take this moment to apologize for the late decision regarding the future direction of RIIZE.
Because we thought that the next chapter of RIIZE, which has been planned with great care since the group’s beginnings, would be more meaningful if it were realized with 7 members, it was decided after multiple discussions with the staff and members that Seunghan would resume activities as a member of the group. Upon his return to the group, Seunghan will take some time to prepare before taking part in the planned activities starting in November.
During his break, Seunghan has continued to hone his skills and has a lot to show, so we kindly ask you to show him your warm and welcoming looks.
Once again, we would like to apologize to fans who have experienced confusion and difficulty while monitoring the growth of RIIZE. However, because RIIZE is a group that grows and moves forward together as a team, the members are working hard even at this very moment for the sake of the group. Therefore, we ask you to trust our decision to introduce RIIZE as a 7-member group again.
We believe that many are curious to know what awaits RIIZE, how much more they will grow, what they dream of and how they will make these dreams come true. Because even though we work closely with RIIZE, we are also fans of RIIZE and are looking forward to their next chapter as much as you are.
In the future, we will continue to dream with RIIZE and ensure that they can reward you with good music and good performances. We ask that you stand with members through every moment of growth and success. »
