Madonna in mourning again, the singer pays a moving tribute to her brother

Christopher Ciccone died this Friday at the age of 63.

American singer Madonna paid a long and poignant tribute to her brother Christopher Ciccone this Sunday, October 6. He died Friday at age 63 from cancer. At the end of September, the singer faced the death of her mother-in-law Joan Ciccone, who died at the age of 81.

On Instagram, the singer writes about her brother: « My brother Christopher is gone. He was the closest human being to me for so long. It’s hard to explain our bond. But it came from an understanding that we were different and that society was going to give us a hard time for not following the status quo. »

Madonna then explains how dancing was their shared passion: “ Dancing was a kind of superglue that held us together. Discovering dance in our small Midwestern town saved me, then my brother came along, and it saved him too ».

The relationship with his little brother has not always been easy. Christopher Ciccone had also written a book about his sister and their quarrels, entitled “Life with My Sister Madonna”. But after moving away, they forgave each other. “ When my brother got sick. We found our way to each other. I did my best to keep him alive as long as possible. He was in so much pain towards the end “, she continues.

Before concluding: “ I’m glad he’s no longer in pain. There will never be anyone like him. I know he’s dancing somewhere. »
