“I can guarantee you”; Jordan Rudess promises Dream Theater’s new album will delight “everybody”

Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess is confident that fans of the progressive metal giants are in for a treat with their upcoming album. In a recent interview with Lots Of Muzik, Rudess expressed his excitement for the new project, stating: “I think everyone will love it [le nouvel album]. I can guarantee you that.”

The album, which has yet to receive an official release date, marks a significant moment in Dream Theater’s history as it is the first to feature original drummer Mike Portnoy since his return to the band after a 13-year absence. Portnoy’s reunion with the band has generated considerable buzz, and Rudess was quick to point out the impact of his return.

“Mike brought with him all of his incredible skills.”Rudess notes, noting that Portnoy’s influence isn’t limited to his drumming. “He has a bit of a filmmaker mentality, looking at everything from a conceptual point of view. There’s a magic there that we’re seeing again today. It’s cool – it’s really cool. We’re very excited.”

Portnoy’s return also revived the band’s signature sound, which Rudess describes as “ Dream Theater.” According to Portnoy in a previous interview, the new album picks up where their 2009 opus, Black Clouds & Silver Linings, left off.
