UNI Financial Cooperation announces the “immediate departure” of its CEO, Robert Moreau | Transition to UNI Financial Cooperation

A little over a month after the beginning of UNI Financial Cooperation’s difficult transition, the financial institution announced on Tuesday the departure of its President and Chief Executive Officer, Robert Moreau.

The Board of Directors announced its immediate departurecan we read in a press release.

The financial institution indicates that a new president and chief executive officer has been appointed.

In early July, the financial institution launched its own banking services, a few months after announcing that it was separating from the service agreement that had linked it with the Mouvement Desjardins in Quebec for many years.

These major changes have resulted in many difficulties for customers. Some struggled to activate their debit cards and their new online space. Others could no longer make bank transfers, or they were very slow.

Some members also did not see their pay or pension arrive in their accounts even though they had been deposited.

At first, UNI leaders downplayed the problems. They had assured that everything was going as planned and that the difficulties encountered only concerned a minority of customers.

Subsequently, they apologized and wanted to reassure their members, particularly regarding the rumors about the security problems of the new system. On July 20, Robert Moreau attested that he was reliable, robust and safe .

The UNI president had also assured that the separation from the Mouvement Desjardins had not been rushed.
